How I Felt Watching: Promare

I received my steel book copy of the Studio Trigger movie, Promare, yesterday. After getting the chance to watch it today I wanted to write down some thoughts mostly related to how the movie made me feel. Trigger really outdid itself with this one.

Watching Promare, I am in high school seeing Gurren Lagann again for the first time, but it is how I remember it and not how the show actually is. I am repeatedly being splashed in the face with colour and motion. Watching this movie I am having fun.

One thing I am certainly not doing is looking at my phone! Spending too much time unfocused and refreshing the same sites is a bad habit I've picked up fairly recently but there was none of that while watching Promare. Always moving forward, the art and animation of the movie do not let up or let you look down.

Directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi (Dead Leaves / Kill la Kill), written by Kazuki Nakashima (Gurren Lagann / Kill la Kill), with music by Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan) Promare is a co-production by Trigger and XFLAG. From hot-blooded fighting spirit to themes of suppressed creativity beaten down by those who cannot see another way forward Promare will not disappoint.
